People spend money on all kinds of crazy things these days. One of the latest is that of mini motorcycles, or pocket bikes. These tiny bikes are good for not only children but also adults. They're even races now using pocket bikes which are somewhat of a major hit in Japan and even the US. The best thing of all about pocket bikes is that they are fairly cheap and you can get some as low as $200. Pocket bikes come in several different engine sizes with most ranging around the 50cc area but they go as high as 110cc. The racing variety obviously is on the higher side of the scale. But you can use any of the sizes for recreation if you so wish. Most pocket bikes have adjustable rear swing-arm suspension which allows them to make tight turns so low to the ground.

When you do finally get your own pocket bike, you need to make sure that you are very careful. In most states and countries pocket bikes aren't really street legal. That is say you cannot officially register a pocket bike as a vehicle with a VIN number. The best places to ride your pocket bike is that a dirt track or go kart racing course but you can also use them right in your neighborhood if they allow it. Another important thing to be aware of is that you need aware full safety gear when riding your bike especially a full-size helmet. Looking at a pocket bike you might think it is just a toy but in reality they can be quite dangerous if you get in a crash. You need to take the full safety measures that you would with a full-size motorcycle.

If you're looking to race these mini bikes you should be aware of the other type of pocket bike which is called the super pocket bike. Super pocket bikes, or pocket rockets as they are sometimes called, are highly modified racing vehicles that are used for racing obviously. The bad thing about these types of bikes is that they can be quite expensive. Depending on the quality of the manufacture and how many modifications are made it can be anywhere from $4,000 to over $10,000 for a single super pocket rocket.

If you want to buy a pocket bike without much effort you can try one of the many online stores that sell pocket bikes today. Just watch out for cheap manufacturers and low quality parts that some of these stores have in stock. If you can try to go with a Italian model versus a Chinese model. Not that Chinese models are always bad its just that Italian manufacturers generally produce higher quality bikes.
